A girl's angle on the first signs of love!

Having crushes and falling in love is all such a beautiful feeling. Esp. the first few weeks/months when everything is rosy in your head. With lots of experience in this field, I have always made mental notes of the 'signs' and finally decided to pen them forever. Ofcourse this is a girl's perspective. Though, I have seen quite a few of my guy friends experience some of these.

- Start thinking much more about the person than you regularly would.
- Are tempted to call the person ALL the time and actually have to hold back cause you feel you might be calling one time too many.
- You will put an international call on hold or even hang up if they call you on the other line.
- An email from them leaves you smiling.
- You run to the computer everytime you hear the 'ding' noise indicating someone has just logged on to IM.
-If it *is* them, you wait for a few mins, before messaging them, so that you don't seem to eager.
- It kills you when they don't reply and then you start wishing you had pinged them as soon as they logged in cause it just might be too late now!
- An unexpected phone call from them keeps you in high spirits for the rest of the week.
- You wonder what they are doing ALL the time.
- You are willing to drop all your evening plans just to go grocery shopping with them.
- You start going for parties/events which you wouldn't normally just cause they are there.
- You miss them when they are absent in the crowd you expected to catch them in.
- And your feelings of disappointment refuse to hide.

I am sure there are many more to add, so feel free to comment all that you think I have missed. And Boys, I would love to know what you think are your first signs of love if different from the above.

:) We boys follow only one rule.

We will be extra careful not to look (or caught looking) when she is flaunting what her mamma gave her :))

I say AYE to every single one of those...especially having that itch to call them all the time...and wondering what they are doing all the time and THEN of course wondering if they are wondering about what you are doing all the time as well!! :)

The list makes me wonder if falling in love is truly a beautiful feeling! :P (I'm playing the cynical bad guy for a change.)

Yep, there is a soap in India called Jai. I think I was around 10 when I first saw this ad. The girl in the advert made my heart skip. Cute ad.

To go with the topic, my all time fave song:

Udta hi phiru, in hawaaon mein kahin
Ya main jhool jaaon in ghataaon mein kahin

Actually, 'Kuch to hua hai (KHNH)' does a pretty good job of painting that picture as well.

witty: I see where you are going but such is life right. We won't know what a 'high' is if we didn't experience the lows. So with every crush/love/change, there is always that rush and joy we experience. It might follow with some pain, lots of pain, or some other kind of pain! But all I speak anout here is just the initial phase. I think we all know it's all downhill from there! :D

    My 2 cents:
    * Compose and recompose mails over and over again, to make sure it looks smart, witty, classy, cool, effortless (all at the same time)
    * get into depression when above email does not get a reply
    * convince self that may be his computer crashed, may be he is still at work etc etc and thats why he didnt reply

    Well...

    * that irresistable urge to think about stuff like, will she be safe where she goes? Will she catch a cold if she is in the beach? Will she get hurt when she trusts a friend? u know, basically worry a lot about stuff which she can very well take care of herself.

    * To keep watching her face for aeons without even hearing what she is talking about.

    * MONEY !!! I was always looking for more money to get her things which she liked and all that stuff. And most of them, she would end up not liking.

    * And then, that acute pain in the heart, when you break up. And then spend days thinking about what went wrong. guys tend to get the message pretty late.

end result of experiment : Dont get into it.

Who said I do not enjoy drama. We girls do! And this is like watching Gilmore girls. You could not handle my life.

Wow, we got such a braveheart here.

"You cant handle me" to a guy and "You cant handle my life" to a girl is such a cliche where the word "slut" written allover.

Dig it? Wait, its already dug - I get it!

    Aparna/Anonymous,

The logical mind fails to comprehend what exactly you are trying to achieve by making such comments. Get on with it folks.

Also, Ciara is right about being 18. Check out her blog for further proof:

    Also, I just turned 22. Yay! :)

    Ciara, I know! :)

Wow...am so out of league here :-(....but its interesting....shifting tracks, anyone wants to talk abt what happens after the "first signs of love" ???

And hey,did i make it more dramatic out here? Well, all that which I felt and described in my previous comment, kinda made me feel so "not me",that I quit. what does that say abt me???

Interesting blog ... the first signs of love seem to have changed over the years. Is it mainly due to the degree to which we are connected by internet and telephony?

I interact with strangers for so many hours that anytime that remains is spent alone and yes having to go through these signs... just reassures me that somewhere I am HUMAN STILL - Luved this keep them coming

i guess guys feel the same...personally i dont think the one sided love doesnt take people that far. once we get to know the other person is looking elsewhere as well...u dont miss them anymore.
